Ladoo(s) is derived from Sanskrit word लड्डुक (laḍḍuka; a kind of sweetmeat). It is a sphere-shaped sweet originating from the Indian subcontinent and it is the oldest form of sweets. It is compulsorily served during festive or religious occasions. It is also the most favoured Indian dessert It is very much loved by Shri Ganesh Ji and used in the pooja.
If tomorrow India has to choose a national sweet dish, the most likely contender should be the ladoo.
